I have to increase several hundred prices in a word document by 7%. This could take some time but I'm sure there must be a way of doing it in Excel and then putting it back in the brochure in Word.
In the past I have managed to avoid spreadsheets and have absolutey no idea of how to go about changing percentages.

People normally embed Excel tables or just edit cells in Excel and copy / paste into a word table. But either suggestion relies on Excel knowledge.
If a cell were to show 85%, the underlying value in Excel is 0.85 - just edit the cell value?

Um you can copy past all the values into excel then put *1.07 into all of them and then you can as Junta said embed them in word.
I think that would work...

Good idea - but I was deliberately trying to avoid formulae in case Milli wasn't happy about that

Good idea - but I was deliberately trying to avoid formulae in case Milli wasn't happy about that one would expect him to know at least the basics of excel when asking this kind of question but of course he might not know a thing about it but still my suggestion was rather simple. You just put 1.07 in one cell, an empty cell and write ='name of cell you want to have 7% increase on'*'name of the 1.07 cell' then put $-signs around the letter of the letter of the 1.07 cells name in the formula, now it should be possible to just drag it down and get the values required.
