I got to play some Dead Space (PC-Version) today. For those who have never heard of it, you play a Space-Engineer with a remote-cutter-gun, and lots of evil aliens suddenly appear to be cut by you.
Even though everyone says it's full of gore and violence and blood, I don't find it that gory, sure you can cut of limbs and stomp on the dead bodies but the game doesn't really focus on it.
The shock moments are really great, however sometimes predictable.
You ride down a elevator, it takes some time, guess what happens when the door opens at the bottom? A big scary monster charging at you, NO WAY :
The gameplay is nice, you have some kind of GPS that tells you where to go when you get stuck, the interface is neat, and the story keeps it interesting. (Until now)
Do not read the rest of the post if you intend to play it, it might ruin some of the fun for you!Back to that elevator...
I already had my gun out by that time, instantly cut it's head off and found out that these things can still charge at you without a head. That, to be honest, really freaked me out, and I mindlessly pumped my whole magazine into it. Great times
It also can be really amusing to try out in what way you can cripple your enemies so that they are still alive, and especially how they still move forward.
Sounds creepy, but if you play the game you just have to do that
