I think just from seeing the location of the intelligence, I perceive it'll be problematic having it so close to a enemy spawn location, certainly in a fast-respawn server like WDG has

Well i wanted to make it easier for capture but not that much,. Like somebody said if intel was in original location, you always have to pas the place where the intel is now, it was hard to pass it, but not impossible. If somebody manages to move the intel a little, it shoudnt be a big problem to bring it to your base. It could also encourage people to use more medics (really rare thing to see medic on 2fort), medic pair should have no problem with getting the intel from its spot.
But as you said, it needs testing , one solution could be removing the main spawn and leave only the second one.
Anyway, it needs testing, perhaps we can do this on server 2?
I'll try and get it on server 2 ASAP for testing.
