Either of those is fine.

I'd go for 4gb x2 ram, so you can put in another 2 sticks at some point in the future.

I think 2gb x4 will be faster though.

Two sets of 4gb kits would be good. It's the option I went for, so 2bg in each of the 4 slots. Although I've yet to tax my ram over 25%

Mm, okey.
ATM it seems like I will go for 32-bits operating system, and thus only 2gB x 2 RAM.
And possibly later upgrade into 64-bit with anothter two sticks of 2gB each for 8gB total.

Well, to be honest I might go for 64-bit, but I have so many old (probably 16-bit games or 16-bit installer) games, and it would be nice to be able to play them too.
But of course, I could simply use an old computer to do that kind of stuff.

So actually, I don't knkow what I'm gonna do ^^

About the RAM:
Is it possible to stick with the 3-kit and find a fourth, single stick and do pairs on both?
I know it should be possible to simply return/cancel the order,
 but if i must pay heaps only to return something,
I'd rather just buy another stick.
I know that they should be identical, but what are the "signs of identity" to look for?

In theory yes. But kits are supplied from the manufacture to deffiantly work together. Getting identical memory moduals is not garanteed I think.

For a deffinate answer to that I will need to reffere to the more knowlegable members of the forum. Or I could just google the answer

you most likely wont get identical memory if you look for it elsewhere, you'd be lucky to get another 3stick kit that's identical as revisions are ALWAYS changing!
Can you not cancel your order and get a different kit? it'll be cheaper anyway

Also, they could still look identical, they'd just behave differently and require different settings to remain stable during usage.

I have 4 sticks of 1600Mhz ram that look IDENTICAL! same brand/model/voltages/timings but if I switch the slots, they fuck up because they have slightly different requirements! (thankfully, I'm using a FC Blackops MOBO so I can set each channel independently! WOO)

Yesterday the monster was up and running. In the end I finally got the right RAM: 4x2gB (thanks again for the advice on triple/double!).
I also went for windows7 64-bit-version, and it works great, only that some games seem to get a bit weird, especially some colors.
